County Londonderry - Portstewart Golf Club

Irish links golf at its best

The Portstewart golf club has not one but three different 18-hole courses so there's plenty of challenges to keep even the most experienced golfer coming back for more.

The Old Course is a par 64 with the front 8 holes perched along the rocky shore and the back 10 on the landward side. This course is particularly good for larger groups, holidaymakers and golfers who are just starting out.

The Strand is a par 72 that's been dubbed ‘the sleeping giant’. It was the brainchild of Willie Park Jr and Des Giffin, and boasts undulating dunes, run off bunkers, rolling fairways and tricky manicured greens that will raise the competitive spirit.

The views from almost every hole are quite simply magical. The Atlantic is never very far away and the beauty of the course has to be played to be fully appreciated. A true treat for any avid golfer.

The Riverside is a beautiful riverside course that meanders along the banks of the scenic River Bann. The Riverside is perfect for those days when you don't feel quite up to the fearsome challenge of The Strand!
