County Tyrone - Brantry Lough Fishing
Fly-fish for brown trout at this idyllic spot
Brantry Lough covers a 60 acre (24 hectare) area and has plenty of brown trout stocked throughout the season. There is a good fall of insects on this water.
Fly fishing is the recommended way to fish in the lough and they also allow fishing from non-mechanical boats, though angling stands are provided for those who want to use them. The lough has a clear hard path, which allows easy access for anyone with reduced mobility.
The woodland plays host to a wide variety of wildlife. Keep an eye out for signs of foxes, badgers and bats. And look up to the skies for a variety of birdlife such as buzzards, great tits, blue tits and chaffinches. Down by the lake you may see dragonflies, damsel flies and swans.
