This testing course offers many spectacular views over the Solway Coast and across the countryside of South West Scotland to the Cumbrian Fells and Isle of Man. The views create a perfect backdrop for your game.
The course itself is a challenging 18-hole parkland course, which was founded in 1905. The principal architect was Willie Fernie.
Colvend golf course was redesigned in 1985 by architect Dave Thomas. It was extended to 18 holes in May 1997. The principal architect was John Souter of GTI and the renowned golfer and TV commentator, Peter Allis, also had a hand in its design.
Many of the holes have challenging lined fairways and water features so you may find your game lasts longer than at other courses. But, as far as we're concerned, this just makes the 19th hole drink all the more satisfying!
