Northumberland - Cawfields Quarry Circular Trail
Lace up and explore this National Park on foot
Taking you through part of the Northumberland National Park, the Cawfields Quarry circular walk initially heads out north of the Roman Wall (giving you stunning views of Cawfields Crags) before looping round through beautiful countryside to pick up and finish on the World Heritage Roman Wall footpath.
The trail is around 3.5 miles, moderate difficulty, and takes about two hours to complete on foot, depending on your speed. It starts and ends at the same car park so is incredibly convenient if you need to drive to get to the starting point.
It takes in rolling countryside view and a stretch of iconic Hadrian's Wall. The terrain is track and road and can be muddy during wet weather.
Visitors are asked to keep dogs on a lead as livestock graze the fields along Hadrian’s Wall.
Northumberland National Park is one of least visited but most spectacular of the National Parks. It has a huge range of walking and cycling trails to suit all levels of experience and energy and provides some memorable views.
