Carmarthenshire - Pantybedw Fishery

Discover the best-kept trout fishing secret in South Wales

One of the best-kept secrets in South Wales is the Pant Y Bedw Fishery near Nantgaredig. It's a stunning 6 acre site in a rural area but has excellent access from the A48, M4, and A40.

The lakes are situated in a natural bowl that's surrounded on three sides by woodland that adds dappled areas for the shade-loving species. At the moment, the aptly named Challenger Lake is stocked with rainbow and brown trout of a minimum weight of 2lbs.

This tranquil and beautiful lake is stocked with over 350 trout. There have been a few stand-put catches of over 25lbs and several catches of over 12lbs reported.

The Pant Y Bedw fishery does allow worming under certain conditions, particularly if it encourages younger anglers to fish as well as older anglers who no longer can fly fish. But call ahead if this is what you want to do, because it has to be arranged in advance.

The Fishery is around five miles east of Carmarthen and two miles from the A48.
