Ceredigion - Cardigan Golf Club

A links golf course with serious heritage

Members have enjoyed playing golf at Cardigan Golf Club for well over a century. It was originally known as the Cliff Hotel Links, and then in the 1970s it expanded to include all 18 championship holes.

The course is high on a hill outside of Cardigan and looks out over the Teifi Estuary at Gwbert-on-Sea. From the 16th tee, you can see a lot of the coast, including Ceredigion to the north and Pembrokeshire to the south, as well as Cardigan Bay.

Estimating very nearly 6,700 yards - with a Standard Scratch Score of one over the standard of 72 - the course at Cardigan is a mixture of meadowland, cliff-top and free-draining links golf, with a lot of gorse that makes losing a ball a painful experience!

The signature hole at Cardigan is well worth the wait. It's a difficult but fair par three that's 195 yards from the medal boxes and features a spectacular view of Poppit Beach across the Teifi Estuary from an elevated tee. The green is bunkered on both sides, so you'll need to be accurate.
