West Sussex - Masons Lake

Coarse fishing at Mason's Lake

A large and picturesque lake surrounded by woodland. This shallow water is no more than 1 metre deep and shaded by overhanging trees, bushes and marginal reeds. Ideal for coarse fishing bream, tench, carp, rudd and roach.

While Masons is most known for the calibre of its roach and rudd, it also boasts a healthy population of wild carp that, on average, fight harder than other carp. Serene and attractive, the peace of the area is only broken by the occasional nostalgic whistles of the Bluebell Railway's steam trains.

Access to Masons Lake is down a long dirt track. Parking is on top of a hill, the lake is then a short walk down quite a steep hill.
