North Yorkshire - Drax Golf Club

One of Yorkshire's 'hidden gem' golf courses

Opened in 1990, Drax Golf Club is known as Yorkshire’s Hidden Gem. Drax Golf Club prides itself on offering affordable but high standard golf to the local community.

Drax Golf Club is kept in good condition and is set in amongst the natural woodland found in the North Yorkshire District of Selby.

The course was opened in 1990 as a 9-hole, then with the addition of 3 new holes in 2010, it became a 12-hole course that can support a full 18-hole round thanks to its clever landscaping and course design.

Although the course is situated adjacent to the UK’s largest renewable power station, it's set in a beautiful woodland area which means during your round, you'll see a variety of wildlife.

The course provides the ideal setting to introduce beginners to the game while also providing the opportunity for the avid golfer to hone their skills thanks to its narrow fairways, variety of trees, hazards and the testing greens - which are renowned in the North Yorkshire area.

The club currently has over 200 members with up-and-coming junior and ladies sections and a substantial seniors section. Members also benefit from the association with the Drax Sports and Social Club which provides excellent food and drink at very reasonable prices.
