An excellent value golf course
Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club, situated just outside the historic town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, is a real gem.
The course is open year-round to visitors and members alike and it’s an absolute pleasure to play at any time of the year.
Not overly long, it’s still a great test for golfers, thanks in no small part to its pleasingly undulating greens.
The Club was founded in 1892 and has been played at its current site, Bend Hagg, since 1904 after members decamped from the old racecourse half a mile away.
Richmond is also now home to The Golf Studio, a state-of-the-art facility, which is available for tuition from the golf professional or for private hire to practice your technique many courses from around the world, from Augusta to Royal Birkdale and Ryder Cup venue Le Golf National and many more world renowned venues.
Golfers keen to explore the surrounding area should leave enough time for a meal or a drink in the sun lounge overlooking the 18th green. Soak up the tranquil atmosphere and take in the views, which change so gloriously with the seasons.
It's a cracking golf course in a fabulous rolling parkland setting with no winter greens ever in play, making it one of the most reliable golf courses in North Yorkshire.
