Nottinghamshire - Blidworth Woods

Follow the colour coded trails for a woodland adventure

Blidworth Woods is near the southern end of Sherwood Forest. It consists of pine woodland and open heath and is the perfect place for walking thanks to a variety of simple colour-coded trails.

The easy access white trail winds through some magnificent oak trees, which provide a habitat for diverse flora and fauna. Keep your eye peeled and see what wildlife you can spot as your explore. The terrain is level and ideal for even self-propelled wheelchairs.

Dog owners can treat themselves and their four-legged friends to a woodland adventure on the short dog loop. This trail can be accessed from the Longdale Lane car park and is a waymarked trail specifically for dog walkers.

The slightly longer blue trail is a 5km of peaceful walk on undulating terrain with great views of the surrounding countryside.

There is also a picnic area and even a refreshment cabin, which is the perfect place to refuel after your woodland adventure.
