Visit Penarth, a popular place with fishermen

Penarth Beach is one the most popular venues in South Wales and if you like easy access to fishing, then this is the spot for you. The beach itself is a mix of sand and shingle with patches of mud and rock in certain areas, especially at the southern end towards Lavernock Point.

There's also fishing available from the pier. From the town, the pier is marked, and there is easy parking for cars. The beach and pier are both signposted from the town.

The majority of fish caught on Penarth Beach are whiting, cod, and flounder in the autumn and winter, as well as bass, silver eels, and mullet in the summer. Although local anglers tend to concentrate on fishing for approximately three hours either side of high tide at night, it's possible to fish at this location any time of day or night. Any equipment or bait you need can be bought at the tackle shops in town.

Cod, whiting, mullet, bass, conger, pouting, and flounder can be caught there.
