Pembrokeshire - White House Mill Trout Fishery
White House Mill Trout Fishery is a peaceful spot for a day's fishing
The White House Mill Trout Fishery in Whitland, Pembrokeshire is a four-acre lake set in relatively unspoilt countryside surroundings.
The lake is surrounded by undeveloped farmland in a tranquil and picturesque valley, ensuring a constant water level regardless of the weather. The fishery is well maintained with mown banks and local hardwood trees planted around the perimeter. To maintain the lake's high pH and clear water, a settlement pond receives water from a spring-fed river.
The fishery only accepts 12 anglers at a time, so it's a peaceful spot to relax. The fish typically reach maturity at a weight of 1 to 5lbs, but occasionally there are a few surprises. The fishery's largest rainbow trout was 15lbs and 10oz, and the largest brown trout was 10lbs and 8oz.
The ameneties are very good too. There's a fishing lodge next to the car park with toilets, a "brew-up" area for complimentary hot drinks, and a picnic and barbecue area.
