Flintshire - Wal Goch Fishing

Spend a day fishing in clear, spring-fed lakes

Whether you’re an experienced angler or just starting out, the two-acre Wal Goch trout fishery is great location for a day’s fly fishing. The lake itself dates back to 1920 when a dam burst but the area has been a working farm for over 300 years.

The clear, spring-fed lakes are located in a quiet, picturesque little valley and there’s a car park within 50 metres of the water. So, no more lugging your kit for miles before you can get set up!

The lakes are stocked regularly with brown trout and full-finned rainbow trout, which range in size from 1.5lb right up to double figures. The high oxygen levels in the water give these fish plenty of fight so you might be in for a challenging time!
