County Antrim - Rea's Wood

Woodland walks by an Irish lough

Rea’s wood is a beautiful wet woodland dominated by alder, willow and birch trees, which extends along part of the shore of Lough Neagh.

Nature lovers can start from the Lough Shore car park, cross into the wood and follow the main path through to the National Nature Reserve where the trail ends. The wood is dog friendly but owners are asked to keep their pets on a lead to limit any disruption to the balance of nature.

Refreshments are often available in the Lough Shore car park.
