County Antrim - Roe Valley Country Park

This country park really does have something for everyone

The Roe Valley Country Park is on the outskirts of Limavady, running three miles along the banks of the River Roe. It offers spectacular riverside views and woodland walks as well as trout and salmon fishing, canoeing, wildlife trails and rock climbing.

A variety of paths exist throughout the park and there's also a sensory trail designed specifically for the visually impaired. The river plunges through gorges in some places on the walking trails, so there are some spectacular photo opportunities.

There's also a tea room serving light bites and cakes, and a picnic area if you want to bring a packed lunch.

But that's not all! If walking isn't your thing, maybe you'd prefer to do a spot of fishing? Salmon and brown trout fishing is allowed, providing you obtain a permit.

Or, if you feel more like messing about on the river, you might like to know that parts of the river are used for kayaking.
