Derbyshire - Cavendish Golf Club

Play the golf course that inspired the famous Augusta National

Opened in 1925 and designed by Alister MacKenzie, Cavendish Golf Course is 5,721 yards long with a par of 68. It's consistently voted one of the top 100 golf courses in England and is well worth checking out.

Cavendish is regarded by experts to be Alister MacKenzie’s inspiration for the celebrated Augusta National - home of the Masters - and it’s easy to see why. With undulating fairways, changes in elevation, sloping greens and devilishly well-thought out hazards, there are lots of holes at Cavendish that mirror those at Augusta.

While most golfers can only dream of ever playing Augusta, they can at least get a taste of the challenge by playing Cavendish.

Cavendish is thought by many in the golfing world to be the best layout in the world under 6000 yards. There's plenty here to pique even the most experienced golfer, such as the elevated tee position of the short par 3 4th hole, the blind dive at the 8th hole and much more.
