Anglesey - The Hebog Tour
Combine bird watching and cycling on this popular route
The Hebog tour - Welsh for ‘Falcon’ - is a great cycle ride for those who are keen on adding a bit of bird watching to their bike ride.
The Hebog Tour is a circular route that starts and finishes at the pubic library in Benllech. Make your way up to Moelfre, stopping at the ancient village of Din Lligwy on the way. Past Din Lligwy, you’ll come to Lligwy beach, a lovely wide and sandy beach backed by low sand dunes.
Then it’s a steady climb to Mynydd Bodafon, a small collection of peaks including the Arwydd, which is the highest point on the island of Anglesey. The remainder of the route is relatively easy. You can take a shorter route back round to Benllech or take a longer detour down to Llyn Cefni, the second largest man-made lake on Anglesey.
